Activities

Studies have been conducted in a wide range of investment opportunities. In many cases country, sector and subject specialists have been appointed into teams to evaluate the client specific objectives.

Recently Veda Research has evaluated the potential of investment in agricultural based renewables. Sugar and coconut have proven to be viable with the capacity to provide multiple revenue streams and at the same time competitive power generation. Incentives are available in the form of agricultural grants, preferential tariffs and flexible financing.

Utilities have also been of interest. This includes integrated water resources management incorporating hydro power generation, flood mitigation and water supply. Recently waste water recovery has been the subject of competitive tenders.

Veda Research has evaluated conventional power projects firing gas, liquid or coal fuel. The move to meet higher environmental standards has promoted the potential of synthetic fuel production from low calorific value coals, which permits combustion in combined cycle gas plant.

Veda Research has ongoing investigation in the petrochemical sector. The potential of refinery upgrades to generate higher value products and improve refining margins is being considered by state owned refineries who must cope with rising demand.

Veda Research also provides public relations support for clients who wish to participate in new sectors or projects or intend to enter new markets.
